The Majorelle Trio

An Alternative to the Traditional String Quartet

The Majorelle Trio is Sonorité Music’s elegant take on the traditional string trio or quartet - combining the beautiful singing sound of the flute with the more traditional sounds of the violin and cello. This unique combination creates a distinctive sound that captures your guests’ attention and transforms the atmosphere of your wedding or event. From classical favourites to romantic ballads and beautifully arranged pop covers, the trio offers a wide-ranging repertoire tailored to each moment — whether you’re walking down the aisle or sipping champagne.

Formed in 2019 by freelance musicians Gemma, Jo, and Daniel, the trio draws on years of shared performance experience at weddings, private parties, and corporate events across London, Hertfordshire, and the Home Counties. The Majorelle Trio brings together a group of friends and the highest level of musicianship to bring something truly special to every occasion.

Why Choose The Majorelle Trio?

The Majorelle Trio offers a refined and memorable alternative to the traditional string trio, combining flute, violin, and cello for a rich, colourful sound that’s perfectly suited to weddings and intimate venues. The flute brings a touch of orchestral sparkle and lyrical warmth, making your music stand out beautifully — especially in smaller spaces where clarity and character matter.

While string quartets are a popular choice, they often blend into the background with a more traditional texture. The Majorelle Trio, by contrast, offers a fresh sonic palette with the expressive, melodic voice of the flute taking centre stage. It’s an ensemble that feels both classical and contemporary — ideal for couples seeking something elegant but a little different.

Unlike many ensembles who rely on generic, off-the-shelf string arrangements, we perform music that is specially arranged to highlight the unique strengths of our trio and the individual players within it. Every piece is carefully tailored to suit this specific combination of instruments, resulting in a performance that feels intentional, well-balanced, and emotionally resonant — not just adapted, but crafted with purpose.
